People Behind Marie: Marit

In the column ‘People Behind Marie’ we introduce you to the Marie-Stella-Maris team. Every month, we put the spotlight on one of our ‘Marietjes’ who – in his / her own way – contributes to our social mission ‘clean water for everyone, everywhere’.

This month in the spotlight: Marit. Cheerful, honest and a bit cheeky: that’s our Logistics Coordinator Marit. By coordinating the incoming orders and additional logistics, Marit makes sure that hospitality partners and retailers are able to enjoy their ordered Marie-Stella-Maris products in time.

We asked Marit six questions to get to know her a little better.

Passport

Name: Marit van Ees

Age: 27

Place of birth: Groningen, the Netherlands

City: Amsterdam

Study: International Business and Management Studies

Function: Logistics Coordinator

Favourite meal?

‘’I always find it difficult to name 'favourites', as there are several things that I really enjoy or like to do. But if I have to choose one favourite dish, it's ‘hachee’ (a Dutch beef stew) with red cabbage, mashed potatoes, gravy and a classic Dutch ‘appelmoes’ on the side - a dish that you can wake me up for.’’

Favourite artist?

‘’When I was a kid, I once visited the Salvador Dalí museum in Girona, Spain with my dad (see below). I have always remembered the crazy, absurd forms in his artworks (like the work: 'La persistèna de la memòria' (1931) - see below). I don’t think that I have enough knowledge of artists to say that Dalí is my favourite, but this experience is the first thing that comes to mind.’’

‘’My favourite artists come from the music industry. There are a number of producers / DJs that I am a huge fan of – music is my favourite form of art. Some of my hardcore heroes are: Tommyknocker, Promo and Angerfist. They are actually DJs who produce their own music, which makes them my heroes.’’

Favourite hotspot?

‘’I don’t really have a favourite hotspot, but I feel most at home at a hard-core festival, because it doesn’t matter who you are, or what you’re wearing. You simply don’t go to a hardcore festival if you don’t like the music. When you walk around a festival that attracts 50,000 people, you have one thing in common: love for hardcore. Especially at specific stages, such as where Millennium Hardcore is played (this is all hardcore made between 2000-2010 with a few records made in the late 90s), you’ll only find real hardcore fans. Everyone has their own memories to the music. The whole audience knows all the records, sings along and dances together. Amazing.’’

Place to visit that is now on top of your wishlist?

''Japan and Canada – Canada because of its nature and Japan to visit Tokyo.''

Favourite way to relax?

‘’I simply relax by doing what I want to do on a day that I don’t have to do ‘anything'. That can be different things like listening to music, discovering new music online, walking through the city or in the park, doing a work-out, but also just lying on the couch and taking naps.’’

Favourite Marie-Stella-Maris product?

"My favourite Marie-Stella-Maris product is the Conditioner. I have very long ánd a lot of hair. There are only a few products that make it possible for me to comb my hair. The Conditioner nourishes and revitalizes my hair without weighing it down. It makes my hair feels super soft and easy to comb out.''
