People Behind Marie: Josha
In the column ‘People Behind Marie’ we introduce you to the Marie-Stella-Maris team. Every month, we put the spotlight on one of our ‘Marietjes’ who – in his / her own way – contributes to our social mission ‘clean water for everyone, everywhere’.
This month in the spotlight: Josha, a "Marietje" from the very first hour. Josha has been with us since the start, and is next to an amazing communications manager, also deeply involved with the foundation. Energetic, following her gut - we've asked Josha seven questions to get to know her a little better.
Place of birth: Groningen
Study: MSc. Psychology
Job title: Communication Manager & board member Marie-Stella-Maris Foundation
"The bulgur from the cookbook 'Simple' by Ottolenghi. I love food but I don't cook that often, so when I do find my way into the kitchen I like to keep things simple. I prepared this bulgur the other day and it was absolutely delicious."
"It's hard to name just one person, but I love Ruth van Beek's work! She excels in reorganizing and manipulating images she primarily finds in old photography books. By doing so she creates new objects which are strange in their context but - because of her use of colour, cuts and shapes - absolutely fascinating to look at."
"By taking a walk in a park, on the beach, through the forest or the city. Simply strolling and taking a look around, preferably with a coffee to go. Occasionally when my head's full, I like to go for a run- and 'very occasionally' I shortly meditate afterwards."
"I recently moved from Amsterdam to Haarlem so I should name something here... Hmmm, in that case I would go for Haarlemmer Kweektuin. It's a nice walk from my home, there's coffee and a bite to eat and all sorts of plants - which are for sale too! Oh and once a month they host a bio market."
"Japan, for its culture, nature and food!"
"Lemon Notes is my favourite; it's great boosting scent. I love the refreshing citrus notes, without being average thanks to the hint of vetiver that adds some earthy tones. The perfect scent for me, all year round!"
"The conditioner. My hair is rather thick and curly so I've got to avoid brushing it (unless you want me to look like a poodle). The conditioner is a nice way to keep my hair manageable; I like to use it while showering to detangle my hair with my fingers and it really feels like the product is nourishing."
